State Representative Cele Hahn (R-Westfield), left, accepts an award from Muriel Heiberger, Director of the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Coalition. Hahn was honored as the "Outstanding State Legislator" in ceremonies at the State House in June. Hahn was nominated by people in the mental health field and was chosen for her "courageous and stalwart efforts to protect and enhance the lives of refugees and immigrants in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts." The award also recognized her, "significant contributions to the health and mental health of the Commonwealth's newcomer communities." The award was given during the Twelfth Annual Refugee and Immigrant Health and Mental Health Legislative celebration. (June 1999)
