Cele, center, and City
Councillor Barbara Swords, enjoy a September Corn Fesival with Konstanti
(Kayo) Crzanowski, left. The celebration, staged on the 67-acre farm
by the Winding River Land Conservancy, was held to thank the 85-year-old
farmer for putting the acreage, farmed by his family for more than
100 years, under the state's Agricultural Preservation Restriction

Cele announces the state
funding of an additional $2.5-million for the multi-modal center in
downtown Westfield. The money, from the transportation Bond
approved by the legislature, is in addtion to the $1-million of state
money previously allocated. Located in the heart of the City,
ground will be broken soon for the new facility which will be a transportation
hub and will also house a hotel and shops. Attending the announcement
ceremony (from left) was Westfield Mayor Rick Sullivan, State Senator

Cele and Longmeadow State
Representative Mary Rogeness (left), present a citation from the House
of Representatives to Bishop Gordon P. Scruton. The Bishop is the
head of the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts, which celebrated
it's 100th anniversary on Pentecost Sunday May 19th at the Mullins

the College. Graduates, parents, and friends brave a cold, rainy
Saturday morning for the commencement ceremonies traditionally held
outside under a massive tent. The weather did not upset that

Cele and Westfield Fire
Chief Frank O'Brien admire the new flag held by several members of
the Department. Cele donated the flag to the City just in time for
it to be flying over the Memorial Day weekend. It is the third such
huge flag Cele has given to the City to be flown from the flagpole
at Westfield's City Green. (5/02) |
